Chance's Take on Books

I'm a novelist who loves to read and discuss all things word-bound.

Currently reading

Swann's Way
Marcel Proust, Lydia Davis
Artful Sentences: Syntax as Style
Virginia Tufte
The Chicago Manual of Style
John Grossman, Margaret D. Mahan
I'll Never Get Out of This World Alive
Steve Earle
American Gods - Neil Gaiman Interesting at first, but as the story and characters progressed, I lost interest. Most stories pull me in, making me want to read more, to turn the page and find out what happens. I can't put my finger on why, but reading this one became a chore. The writing style was fine. The topics were interesting and the author clearly has something to say. Perhaps its just chemistry, or my mood. Maybe I'll try again later, but for now, I have to say I was underwhelmed.
