Chance's Take on Books

I'm a novelist who loves to read and discuss all things word-bound.

Currently reading

Swann's Way
Marcel Proust, Lydia Davis
Artful Sentences: Syntax as Style
Virginia Tufte
The Chicago Manual of Style
John Grossman, Margaret D. Mahan
I'll Never Get Out of This World Alive
Steve Earle
The Black Lung Captain - Chris Wooding For me, the writing, pacing, characterization and storytelling found in the tales of Ketty Jay are top notch. The dialogue is witty. Frey, as well as others have continued to fascinate. Harkin and Pinn are the weakest, but provide comic relief. The plot provides twists and turns, and even when I anticipated them, the actions were enjoyable. Violence was extreme, but didn't leave searching for a worm hole to crawl into. Love the tease of romance. This series is just a romping good time. I intend to read the next installment, The Iron Jackal.
